Yizkor (Memorial) Books

Yizkor (Memorial) Books
The yizkor or memorial books were written during the Nazi rule by Eastern European Jews who managed to survive the Holocaust. Many of these memorial books were written to record the vibrancy of Jewish shtetl (village) life before the Nazi occupation as well as the destructive process itself.
