Banality Of Evil
   The “banality of evil” is the controversial phrase coined by Hannah Arendt when she incorporated the term as the subtitle of her 1963 book, Eichmann in Jerusalem: The Banality of Evil. It describes her argument that the Holocaust was not perpetrated by fanatics or sociopaths but rather by ordinary people, like Adolf Eichmann, who accepted the premises of their state and therefore participated in mass murder with the view that their actions were normal.
