Catcher

Catcher
(Greifer)
About 6,800 Jews lived an underground existence in Germany during the war. These hidden Jews or UBoote were hunted down by the Gestapo with the aid of paid Jewish informers known as Greifer (catchers), who were responsible for the deportation of hundreds of Berlin’s Jews to the extermination camps. At the end of the war, only 28,000 Jews as defined by Nazi racial laws remained in Germany and Austria.
